One great way to display a family calendar so that it looks neat is with a framed vinyl calendar. Just A Girl has an example of her own vinyl calendar on her blog.
To use it, simply use a whiteboard marker to fill in the month and dates, then add events. Color coding is a great way to organize your calendar. Each person in the family gets their own color, birthdays & anniversaries another color, work, church events, etc. Since the vinyl is applied to the back side of the glass, it's easy to erase and stays looking nice.
If you're concerned about erasing your family calendar at the end of the month, simply take a picture of it before you erase and add a new month!
There are a few Etsy stores that sell the vinyl calendars that you can buy and put in your own frame. Or, you can make your own if you have a die cut machine like a Cricut.
